Open-back banjos have quietly stepped up to become the darlings of the banjo world. String band old-timey music has become more popular than bluegrass. Clawhammer and two-finger playing styles are back in force. Our Singletree banjo (what, you don’t know what a Singletree is?) shares the same three-ply maple rim our bluegrass banjos have, available in either 11″ or 12″ pots. Necks are one-piece mahogany, since all H&D guitar and banjo necks are cut from a single billet, though curly maple necks and pots are an available upgrade. The burned-in H&D logo on the dowel stick proves that we are as proud of the Singletree banjo as any other instrument we make. Though the standard version has a maple tone ring, Whyte Laydie or Dobson tone rings are available.
